Cynthia Good
Cynthia Good is the CEO, co-founder, and co-owner of Pink Magazine. Good suggested that the magazine: “exists to promote this new generation of women who are making a significant impact on the world through their work and their lives-while being true to themselves.” While the magazine is published in hardcopy, it also has a dynamic online presence. Both media emphasize “the lives of women and their families.” Both media have also won numerous prestigious, national awards for being an industry leader. Good’s Pink empire—a multi-million dollar business--promotes the most influential, remarkable women while sharing their entrepreneurial spirit to the laywoman.
The online portal offers longer, exclusive essays on issues only touched on in print. Beyond promotion women, however, Pink also shares advice on technology application, financial independence, workplace equity, and aspiration. The Pink website houses a plethora of articles, offering advice and how-tos: networking, women in the news, a women-focused job bank, knowledge banks, health concerns, franchising opportunities, self-improvement, and continuing education. In an effort to lead by example, Good offers free ad pages to nonprofits that support women’s issues.
She celebrates and promotes the ‘pinkness’ of women: the right to think big, the courage to pursue a dream, and the tools to make it a successful reality. Once a year, Pink promotes the Top Women in Business and manages to keep tally on these women throughout the years, sharing updates, accomplishments, and milestones to inspire ambitious women across the country.
Cynthia was a career journalist, as a TV anchor and an author, before launching Pink, although her professional focus has remained consistent: issues confronting women and families. To top it off, she is also the mother of two teenage boys. Cynthia Good is the epitome of balancing “a beautiful career with a beautiful life,” the goal of her Pink domain.
